It has come to my attention that I’m missing some sweet events while I’m up here in New York. So here’s what I know, so you can know.
Thursday, Feb. 17: The Trash Cat Clothing Exchange is holding a vintage sale at Sova (1359 H St. NE) from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is apparently a monthly event, but I’ve never attended one of their previous exchanges. If you go, let me know what you find.
Thursday, Feb. 17 — Saturday, Feb. 19: “My Life in Dresses” is a short play about a woman’s love of vintage clothing. It’s a part of Project Brand New, a mini theatre festival at Flashpoint Gallery (915 G St. NW)
Friday, Feb. 18: The Mt. Pleasant Temporium is finally here! I can’t make any vintage promises, but it’s hard to resist handmade goods from local artists.
Saturday, Feb. 19: Butler + Claypool, a collective that includes vintage lovers Holly Thomas and Betsy Lowther, is having a preview party from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at American Ice Co. (917 V St. NW). There’s a limited selection available through Etsy, and it’ll be interesting to see what the ladies have cooked up for this pop-up shop. Again, please go and be my eyes and ears.
